§ Mr. NewtonNo estimate for 1987 is yet possible. The latest published estimates for 1986 is that gross expenditure on the National Health Service in the United Kingdom accounted for 5.5 per cent. of the gross domestic product, compared with 4.8 per cent. in 1979.
