HL Deb 14 June 1988 vol 498 c259WA
Lord Melchett

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether, in view of the statement by the Earl of Caithness (col. 637: 23rd May 1988) that the Common Land Forum report published by the Countryside Commission in September 1986 "was not agreed unanimously", they will state which members of the Common Land Forum did not agree the forum's report.

The Minister of State, Department of the Environment (The Earl of Caithness)

The representative from the Farmers' Union of Wales was the only member of the forum who did not sign the forum's report. However, my comments were intended to refer to the fact that our consultations which followed publication of the report indicated that a number of interests not represented on the forum disagreed with various forum recommendations and it is matters arising from the consultation paper responses that we, and the Countryside Commission, are endeavouring to resolve.
