§ Mr. Home RobertsonTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what representations he has received on the Draft Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations, issued by his Department on 1 March; and if he will consider implementing these regulations sooner than 1 March 1989.
§ Mr. ButcherI have received approximately 260 seperate representations on the draft Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Relugations. A number of these contain suggestions about the dates for them to come into operation both for manufacture and for retail sale. I am considering proposals for an earlier date of implementation for one of the requirements.
