HC Deb 10 June 1988 vol 134 c698W
Mr. McLeish

To ask the Attorney-General what plans he has to introduce legislation relating to the parental rights of unmarried fathers; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

Part II of the Family Law Reform Act 1987 contains a number of provisions which improve the legal position of unmarried fathers. Other plans and priorities will determine when resources can be made available for the purpose of bringing part II into force, but the Lord Chancellor will keep the matter under close review.
