To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what is the cost of the chaff and flare dispensers for Royal Air Force Jaguar aircraft.

Mr. Sainsbury

My noble Friend the Minister of State for Defence Procurement will write to the hon. Member.

Mr. Rogers

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how much longer the Royal Air Force Jaguar aircraft will remain in Royal Air Force service.

Mr. Ian Stewart

The Jaguar is planned to remain in service with the Royal Air Force until it is replaced by the European fighter aircraft, which we hope will enter service in the mid-1990s. This process is expected to be completed around the turn of the century.
