HC Deb 09 June 1988 vol 134 cc626-7W
Mr. Winnick

To ask the Attorney-General if, in the light of the judgment of the High Court in Australia, he will give the latest total amount spent by Her Majesty's Government on all aspects, including legal, travelling, administrative and other costs, relating to the Government's legal action on "Spycatcher" in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.

The Attorney-General

The total amount expended to date on legal costs both here and abroad in respect of litigation and advice and on travelling and subsistence is about £848,000. To seek to quantify administrative costs would involve disproportionate expense.
