Mrs. Currie

The table lists every mental illness hospital in England which discharged (in 1986) one or more in-patients after a stay of five years of more. Some sites listed are mixed mental illness and mental handicap but have a predominance of mentally ill patients. The number of in-patients resident at each site is at 31 December 1986. The closure status is annotated according to the classifications set out in the question. Those under(a) are linked to a specified target closure date.
