The figures are based on bilateral aid to Nicaragua as a percentage of each donor's total bilateral plus multilateral aid. The United Kingdom's share of multilateral, mainly European Community, aid to Nicaragua in 1985, the latest year for which this figure is available, amounted to about 0.2 per cent. of our total aid; statistics are not available which would show the amount which other DAC countries provided to Nicaragua through multilateral channels.
