To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department why the application of Mrs. Nanette Ida Goodman of 12 Avenue terrace, Southend-on-Sea, to the Petty France office for a passport renewal on 19 April, explaining the urgency of her application, has still not been dealt with; and if he will make a statement.

Without Mrs. Goodman's date of birth, the London Passport Office is unable to trace her application on the computerised record of postal applications awaiting processing. If my hon. Friend will let me have this information, we will do all we can to ensure that the application is expedited. The passport department has tried to contact Mrs. Goodman by telephone, but her number is unavailable.
