§ Mr. GummerBeam trawlers are subject to the general licensing arrangements operated by fisheries departments for quota species. Because of the pressure on the area VII white fisheries, beam trawler licences for those fisheries are only available—with certain limited exceptions—for a replacement vessel where the length, tonnage and engine power of the replacement do not exceed those of the existing vessels.
