To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the export performance of the agricultural supply industry.

Although the agricultural supply industry can be defined in various ways, I am pleased to report that the visible exports attributable to the industry as detailed below is increased by 13.6 per cent, from £1,374 million in 1986 to £1,560 million in 1987. This compares favourably with the 9.4 per cent. increase in total United Kingdom visible exports over the same period.
