HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 c439W
Mr. Higgins

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis as to why the Metropolitan police are not enforcing parking restrictions on Westminster bridge.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

I am advised by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis that the parking restrictions imposed on Westminster bridge by the highway authority allow vehicles to stop to set down or pick up passengers, and that the Metropolitan police take suitable enforcement action if parking offences come to light.
