HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 c551W
Mr. Key

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make a statement on the implications for the management of the Salisbury Plain training area and the management of the housing stock occupied by military and civilian personnel in south Wiltshire, following the announcement of the restructuring of the Property Services Agency by the Secretary of State for the Environment.

Mr. Freeman

I do not foresee any changes in the policy for management of the Salisbury Plain training area or the housing stock occupied by military and civilian personnel in south Wiltshire as a result of the restructuring of the Property Services Agency. South Wiltshire will continue to be managed by the defence land agent at Durrington who will, from 1 October 1988, report directly to the Ministry of Defence rather than to the Property Services Agency.
