HL Deb 07 June 1988 vol 497 c1396WA
Lord Harris of Greenwich

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Which recommendations made in the Department of Transport Study Crime on the Underground published in 1986 have not yet been implemented.

The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department of Transport (Lord Brabazon of Tara)

All the recommendations in the 1986 study have been carefully considered and the great majority are leading to specific crime prevention measures. London Underground Limited's programme, to which the Government are making £15 million available over three years, includes a number of pilot projects to test particular measures on selected parts of the network. Decisions on implementation over the longer term and over the network as a whole will be taken in the light of the experience with these projects.
