To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the Industry Matters scheme.

The work of encouraging a better understanding of the importance of industry, begun during Industry Year 1986, is being carried forward in Northern Ireland by an independent company limited by guarantee, Industry Matters (NI) Ltd. The company is involved in a wide range of projects designed to create and develop links between industry and education at all levels, and has also launched an initiative to promote the concept of total quality throughout Northern Ireland industry. Industry Matters' costs are met by contributions from the private sector matched by the Department of Economic Development on a pound-for-pound basis up to a limit of £50,000 in any one financial year.
