HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 c431W
Mr. Ieuan Wyn Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what measures he is taking to ensure Welsh farmers are fully aware of the opportunities involved in developing and managing farm woodland.

Mr. Peter Walker

[holding answer 27 May 1988]: My Agricultural Development and Advisory Service staff and the Forestry Commission together offer an expert advisory service on farm woodlands. Advice is also available from the Countryside Commission, Nature Conservancy Council and the Agricultural Training Board through the "Coed Cymru—Welsh Wildwoods" initiative.

A series of joint ADAS/Forestry Commission displays and exhibitions have been provided at various sites and exhibitions over the past year. Further advice will be available in the publicity material and technical literature which we shall be issuing in the course of the next few months in connection with the new farm woodland scheme which will become operative in the autumn.
