HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 cc475-6W
Mr. Adley

To ask the Prime Minister if she will make a statement on the co-ordination between the Department of the Environment, the Department of Employment and the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food in taking action to combat the scourge of the Blandford fly in Dorset.

The Prime Minister

I understand that there is to be a meeting on 8 June between representatives of the Health and Safety Executive, North Dorset district council and the Freshwater Biological Association to discuss the problem of the Blandford fly. Subsequently, if advice from the Independent Advisory Committee on Pesticides is required, all the approving Departments will automatically be involved. I am satisfied that there is good co-ordination between the Departments involved in pesticide approvals.
