HC Deb 07 June 1988 vol 134 c466W
Mr. Robertson

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs when was the last meeting of the Ministers' panel on disarmament arms control and non-proliferation; and what is its composition.

Mr. Mellor

The advisory panel on disarmament last met in April 1987. Since 1983 its composition has varied from one meeting to another, according to the agenda. It was established in 1964 to enable Ministers to discuss arms control issues with politicians, academics and non-governmental organisations. In recent years this dialogue has been continued and expanded through a number of increasingly specialised groupings.
