HC Deb 29 July 1988 vol 138 c710W
Mr. Campbell-Savours

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a request for information or clarification as to the sale of Sea Cadet missiles overseas; and whether he will seek undertakings from the shippers of Sea Cadet missiles that such missiles have not arrived in the hands of Soviet interests.

Mr. Alan Clark

I have been asked to reply.

I have no knowledge of Sea Cadet missiles. It is not the practice to obtain undertakings in respect of goods which have already been shipped. Any diversion of strategically controlled exports from the United Kingdom to an embargoed destination which comes to the attention of Her Majesty's Government would be investigated.
