To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will make a statement on his plans for compensation of public service pensioners for the underpayment of the state retirement pension.

State retirement pensioners were compensated in respect of the underestimate of the RPI. On the decision not to compensate public service pensioners, I have nothing to add to my written answer of 18 December, at columns 845–46, to my hon. Friend the Member for Croydon, South (Sir W. Clark).
