HC Deb 29 July 1988 vol 138 cc785-6W
Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will estimate the number of patients included in the March 1987 waiting list figures, under returns SBH 203, who would have been excluded as self deferred cases under category KH07a;

(2) if he will list those district health authorities thought to have included self-deferral figures on their returns to SBH 203 for March 1987;

Mrs. Currie

[holding answer 5 May 1988]: The instructions for completing form SBH203 clearly stated that self deferred cases should be excluded. Despite this, it is possible that the figures from some consultants included deferred cases but the extent to which this occurred cannot be measured retrospectively.

Mr. Dobson

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) when he expects to be able to publish the waiting list figures for September 1987; and if he will give reason for the dealy;

(2) if he will publish the waiting list for September 1987 for each regional health authority, district health authority, and special health authority including self-deferred cases (KH07a); and if he will break these down by specialty.

Mr. Pendry

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services how many patients are currently on waiting lists for in-patient treatment at National Health Service hospitals in the Tameside and Glossop district and in the north-west region.

Mrs. Currie

[holding answers 5 May and 16 June 1988]: The national waiting list figures were announced on 27 April and placed in the Library. The detailed district in-patient waiting list figures have now also been placed in the Library. There was a time gap between the two as the district statistical returns required careful checking.
