(2) what is his estimate of the number of homeless single people for each of the last six years; what is his estimate of 802W the number of homeless single persons for whom no authority is statutorily responsible; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. TrippierThe numbers of households for whom Doncaster borough council reported accepting responsibility for securing accommodation in the years 1983 to 1986 appear in a table placed in the Library in May 1987. In 1987, 285 households were accepted.
Corresponding figures for England were included in the reply given to the hon. Member for Newcastle-upon-tyne, East (Mr. Brown) on 10 June, at columns 737–78. For Welsh figures I refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Wales.
The numbers of single people among the households accepted as homeless are not reported by local authorities and my Department has no estimates.
