HC Deb 29 July 1988 vol 138 c739W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the real exchange rate against the deutschmark in February 1987; and if he will publish in theOfficial Report the amount by which United Kingdom export prices for manufactures have increased relative to German export prices since then.

Mr. Lilley

Nominal exchange rates are published daily in the national press. Figures for export prices for the United Kingdom and Germany are given in the IMF's "International Financial Statistics", monthly. Alternative price indices for constructing real exchange rate indices are also available in several international publications, including "International Financial Statistics".
