§ Mr. AtkinsThe English Industrial Estates Corporation is a non-departmental public body which trades as English
648WEstates. It is funded by the Government to provide and facilitate the provision of industrial and commercial premises and sites in certain parts of the country in support of regional and inner city policies. It carries out two main programmes on behalf of the Department of Trade and Industry. One is in the assisted areas of England and the other is a new programme in the inner cities under which it funds managed workspace projects in partnership with the private sector. It also provides premises on behalf of the Rural Development Commission in rural development areas.
