HC Deb 29 July 1988 vol 138 c619W
Ms. Armstrong

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will list the consultants advising the Government on city technology colleges; and what is his estimate of the cost of this exercise;

(2) if he will list the consultants advising those city technology colleges already announced, giving an estimate of the cost.

Mrs. Rumbold

As from January 1987 the Government have been advised by a group of four, and latterly five individual experts, plus the Organisation for Rehabilitation through Training, on the curriculum and related issues of city technology colleges. The estimated cost to the Department to date is £40,000.

Kinghurst, Nottingham and Teesside CTC trusts are each employing the services of a number of advisers to help them establish their CTCs. Details are available from the CTC trust concerned in each case. The Department is contributing an estimated £225,000 towards the cost of these services over a period of three years.
