HC Deb 28 July 1988 vol 138 c558W
22. Mr. Nellist

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary as to when he expects police inquiries into the death of Mr. Anthony Hughes at Loughgall on 8 May 1987 to be concluded; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Ian Stewart

I understand that the RUC have completed their investigations. The Director of Public Prosecutions (Northern Ireland) will decide whether any criminal proceedings should be brought.
