HC Deb 28 July 1988 vol 138 c470W
Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what information he has as to the current bed occupancy of wards 7 and 8 at Lennox Castle hospital.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

[holding answer 18 July 1988]: I have had inquiries made of the Greater Glasgow health board.

At present five of the 24 places in wards 7 and 8 are occupied. Revenue funds for the full use of these wards have been made available by the board, but the board is making a careful assessment of patients to ensure that residents who stand to benefit most from the new wards are allocated to them. A clinical exercise of this nature takes time, and the board expect that full occupancy of wards 7 and 8 will be achieved by mid-September and December respectively.
