HC Deb 28 July 1988 vol 138 c561W
39. Rev. Martin Smyth

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about efforts by the Royal Ulster Constabulary to prevent aid to the Irish Republican Army from outside Northern Ireland.

Mr. Ian Stewart

I understand that the Chief Constable of the Royal Ulster Constabulary is in regular contact with law enforcement agencies throughout the United Kingdom and in other countries with a view to preventing the supply of arms and funds to terrorist organisations in Northern Ireland.
