The information for English authorities is derived from the publication "Housing Rent Statistics at April 1987" produced by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy. The figure for Glasgow is derived from the local authority housing stock as published in "Rating Revenue Estimates of Income and Expenditure 1987" produced by CIPFA Scotland; and rent rebate information from the local authority housing benefit subsidy claims for 1987–88.
