§ Mr. Chris PattenI refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave my hon. Friend the Member for Kingswood (Mr. Hayward) on 11 July 1988 at column10. Since that date, in view of the serious plight of Sudanese and Somali refugees in Ethiopia, we have made available additional relief assistance totalling £444,000, together with a further contribution of £1.5 million to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. In addition to relief aid, we provide technical co-operation and famine rehabilitation, currently running at around £1.5 million a year.
