§ Mr. Simon CoombsTo ask the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster what studies his Department has undertaken into the ability of the United Kingdom software industry to compete with the French, West German and Italian software industries after 1992; and if he will arrange for copies of such studies to be placed in the Library.
§ Mr. ForthThe Department commissioned a report entitled "Computing Services Industry 1986–1996 a decade of opportunity" from Coopers and Lybrand Associates which was published in April 1987. The study predicts future trends in the industry and includes a comparison of the United Kingdom industry with those of its major competitors—France, West Germany, the United States of America and Japan.
