To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will review the current road humps regulations; and if he will make a statement.

We are currently reviewing the regulations to make a greater diversity of road humps and locations available to local highway authorities. We want to adopt a common sense approach to these regulations so that maximum benefits can be gained from the use of these cost-effective accident reduction measures. We intend to begin consultations with local authorities and other interested organisations in early autumn of this year.
