To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) what is the maximum number of in-patients treated at any one-time during each of the past five years at Kingsway hospital, Derby; and what is the overall in-patient capacity of that hospital;

(2) what is the maximum number of in-patients treated at any one time during each of the past five years at Pastures hospital, Derby; and what is the overall capacity of that hospital;

(3) what is the maximum number of in-patients treated at any one time during each of the past five years at the Manor hospital in Derby; and what is the overall in-patient capacity of that hospital.

The available information is given in the table. In 1968 the daily average number of occupied beds for Kingsway, Pastures and Manor hospitals was 715.2, 971.9 and 368.8 respectively. Details of the maximum number of patients treated at any one time is not available centrally, and my hon. Friend may wish to write to the chairman of the Southern Derbyshire district health authority who may be able to supply this information.

The Manor hospital closed in May 1988 with patients being transferred mainly to new or upgraded facilities at the Derbyshire royal infirmary and Ilkeston community hospital.
