HC Deb 27 July 1988 vol 138 c340W
Mr. Faulds

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement about the latest position on the developments concerning Heveningham hall.

Mr. Moynihan

I am glad to say that we understand that the owner intends to open Heveningham hall to the public daily between 31 July and 1 September this year. It remains my right hon. Friend's hope that the restoration of the fire-damaged wing will proceed. My right hon. Friend has also, in a decision issued on 25 July, upheld the recommendation of both his inspectors not to confirm the footpath diversion order made by the Suffolk Coastal district council relating to land at Heveningham.
