HC Deb 26 July 1988 vol 138 c180W
Mr. Clay

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will publish a table showing how many people were disconnected from their water supplies for each year between 1978–79 and the latest date available.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

This information is not held centrally. A water authority (regional or islands council) would disconnect a domestic household's supply only for operational reasons. These would include repairing leaks in household plumbing systems or in the authority's mains, making connections or lining pipes.
