§ Mr. CopeFigures for the number of young people in Newham who are available for YTS are kept by the local authority careers service and are not available to the Department. However, based on entrants last year and taking into account extra entrants this September the Training Commission estimate that there will be some 320 entrants in 1988–89. There are currently 447 YTS places available in Newham.
