HC Deb 25 July 1988 vol 138 cc122-3W
Mr. Soley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport (1) what assumption has been made in the west London assessment study about the proposed traffic capacity of the west London corridor;

(2) what are the limits to the increase or decrease in traffic that are considered practical for testing in the west London assessment study; what level of relief in traffic levels is being sought; and what assumptions are being made about future car ownership.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The study consultants have made an initial assessment of the impact of each option on existing traffic movement patterns. Growth and capacity assumptions and forecasting techniques will be addressed in the detailed assessment and testing of the options in the rest of stage 2.

Mr. Soley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what proposals he has to compensate(a) local authorities, (b) housing associations and (c) owner-occupiers if the western environmental improvement route is constructed.

Mr. Peter Bottomley

The usual statutory compensation provisions would apply. Copies of booklets giving details of these provisions have been placed in the Library.
