Mr. Alan Williams

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what he estimates the net effect in revenue would be for each Welsh council from the application of the uniform business rate.

It is not meaningful to isolate the effects of the switch to a national non-domestic rate upon the revenue of local authorities, since it will be introduced together with a different grant system and a different basis of resource equalisation.
