§ Mr. PortilloDetails of individual local office expenditure on the social fund are placed in the Library at monthly intervals. Copies of this information are held at the Department's libraries where they may be viewed by appointment. Two copies are deposited with the British Library, one of which may be borrowed by other libraries for inquirers; the other copy can be consulted at the British Library. Microfiche copies may be purchased from Messrs. Chadwyck-Healey of Cambridge. In addition we expect local office managers to respond to reasonable requests to provide expenditure information as at the end of the preceding month.
§ Mrs. BeckettTo ask the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will publish in theOfficial Report the social fund expenditure of each local office in Great Britain for loans and grants, respectively, and the same figures expressed as percentages of monthly profiles, for each month from April to June 1988, on the same basis as the information for Northern Ireland offices given by the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland on 13 July in his answer to the hon. Member for Redcar (Ms. Mowlam), Official Report, columns 249–52.
§ Mr. PortilloDetails of social fund expenditure to the end of June are in the Library. Information relating to expenditure as a percentage of monthly profile for over 450 local offices in Great Britain could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
