To ask the Minister for the Arts what resources are made available by his Department for the encouragement of modern dance.

Mr. Luce

The Arts Council direct funding for dance in 1988–89 is £12–71 million; the regional arts associations also fund dance. The allocation to modern dance is not available as a separate figure.
