HC Deb 25 July 1988 vol 138 cc64-5W
Mr. Austin Mitchell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment whether he will publish in theOfficial Report a table showing for Scotland, Wales and each English region the number of council houses sold in the past five financial years and his estimate for 1988, together with the average valuation and the average price received.

Mr. Waldegrave

The readily available information on sales by local authorities, new town and the Scottish Special Housing Association, excluding block sales, is given in the table. Corresponding estimates are not available for 1988–89, but forecasts for sales by English local authorities were included in the public expenditure White Paper (Cmnd. 288–II) published in January.
