Mr. Hinchliffe

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many applications for attendance allowance were(a) made and (b) granted in the last year for which figures are available;

(2) how many applications for attendance were disallowed, not including those granted after appeal, in the last year for which figures are available;

(3) how many claims for attendance allowance were disallowed following an initial medical report, by the attendance allowance board, but were granted attendance allowance after appeal, for the last year for which figures are available.
