HC Deb 22 July 1988 vol 137 cc848-51W
Mr. Madden

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when submissions from Bradford college, concerning funding under the urban programme of community group courses, were received by his Department; when decisions will be taken on funding submissions; if he will make it his policy to ensure that approval is made earlier in subsequent years; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Trippier

[holding answer 21 July 1988]: These submissions were received on 7 April as part of Bradford's inner area programme. This was unsatisfactory and a revised programme submission was received on 30 June. This is under consideration and I expect to be able to announce a decision in the near future. Early approval of inner area programme is dependent upon the timing and quality of submission by the local authority.

Mr. Madden
