§ Mrs. ChalkerWe continue to urge the South African Government to release Mr. Nelson Mandela immediately854W and unconditionally. All our efforts are designed to secure that objective. The South African Government are well aware of our views.
§ Mr. Harry BarnesTo ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what urgent action is to be taken to repatriate to the United Kingdom the British citizens Carol Ann Roberts and her daughter Julie Rota Boyd who are stranded in Sekunda, South Africa without funds.
§ Mr. MellorRepatriation is not a statutory right and Mrs. Roberts and her daughter do not meet the normal criteria under which it is granted. Mr. Roberts left his wife and step-daughter in South Africa when he decided, for his own reasons, to return to the United Kingdom with his son in June. He has now recognised his obligations to his family and is in the process of raising funds for their return to this country.
