HC Deb 22 July 1988 vol 137 cc855-6W
Mr. Heddle

To ask the Attorney-General, pursuant to his answer to the hon. Member for Mid-Staffordshire, Official Report, 30 June. column 295, what evidence he has of the level of support from solicitors and other professional advisers for the changes in conveyancing practice identified by the Law Commission's standing committee to help reduce the practice of gazumping.

The Attorney-General

There are no available figures to indicate the level of support for these changes in conveyancing practice. These changes were identified by the conveyancing standing committee only last year, and it is too early to judge their effect.
