HC Deb 22 July 1988 vol 137 c862W
Mr. Cox

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how often practice of fire-fighting procedures takes place in prisons in England and Wales; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

Governors have been advised that subject to any overriding security or control considerations, a fire practice should be held at least once in six months. Procedures are also practised ad hoc as part of the training of those allocated to fire duties.
