HC Deb 22 July 1988 vol 137 cc843-4W
Sir Geoffrey Finsberg

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment in how many of the cases under the right-to-buy legislation referred to the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, the hon. Member for Broxbourne (Mrs. Roe), by the hon. Member for Hampstead and Highgate since June 1987 the London borough of Camden has been in default of compliance with the time limits set down in legislation.

Mrs. Roe

Since June 1987 my hon. Friend has referred to me some 90 cases of delay being experienced by tenants of the London borough of Camden seeking to exercise their right to buy. It is likely that the council failed in most of these cases to meet the statutory time limits for serving notices admitting or denying the right to buy or setting out the terms of sale.
