§ Mr. Lilley[holding answer 21 July 1988]: Expenditure by the Central Office of Information on advertising on behalf of other Government Departments in 1987–88 was £87.7 million. Estimated expenditure on advertising through the COI for 1988–89 is a matter for departmental Ministers.
