To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has recently discussed traffic congestion with the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Douglas Hogg

My right hon. Friend met the Commissioner on 11 April to discuss a range of matters including the enforcement of road traffic law. Regular discussions also take place between the Metropolitan police and the highway authorities in London, including the Department of Transport, about traffic issues.
