§ Mr. RidleyThe total spend for paid publicity and associated staff costs for my Department, including PSA, was £4.8 million in 1987–88. The provision for 1988–89 is

There are also statisticians employed throughout the Department in posts of a largely administrative nature; these numbered 22 at 1 April 1979, 9 at 1 April 1984 and 11 at 1 April 1988.
